FAQs

If the question you have is not answered below click here to e-mail us.

From our home page, click on Book Now at the top, and then choose the boat you would like to hire. Click Book Now, select how many passengers will be in the party, the date you want, trip features and the time of the departure. Ensure that you fill in the alternative sailing dates section – this is important as if we must cancel for any reason, we can automatically rebook your trip. Then click Book Now. After you have done this, select any other services listed (such as flowers, visual tributes, lunch). When you are happy with your selection, click on the basket and carefully check all is correct and then proceed to checkout. You will receive confirmation from us that your booking was successful, and payment has been made. At this point you will receive an information pack by email which will contain everything you need to know including our terms & conditions which every passenger must read and accept.

There is no age limit for using our services, though a reasonable fitness and mobility level is certainly suggested. While we recommend a minimum age of 12 years old, any children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult on a one-to-one basis.  Life  jackets are provided as you board.

Entirely up to you but remember, even on warm summer days there can be a fresh breeze out on the open water, and we can’t guarantee it won’t rain! We recommend flat shoes or boots to help you keep your balance but must insist on no stiletto heels, please. Safety equipment such as life jackets will be provided as you board the boat.

At present, we are only offering departures from Dartmouth in Devon. If you have selected an early departure, we advise that you travel to the local area the day before to avoid potential late arrivals on the day. We will be adding further locations as we increase our fleet, so do return to the site for updates in our News section.

We currently have only one vessel in service, but we are constantly adding to our fleet. Details of new boats will feature in the news section of our website.

In the event of weather considered dangerous at sea, or other reasons beyond our control, we can offer either scatterings upstream on the river Dart, or a revised date for your event. Cancellation occurs normally no later than 24 hours before an event. A revised date will be offered according to the alternative dates you entered at the time of booking.

We stock bags on board for you. Remember the top tip is to keep your eyes on the horizon, especially at the beginning of the trip whilst you find your balance.

No, you do not need a passport to travel with Wesley Offshore.

A maximum of 10 guests plus crew is the licensed capacity of the boat.

Sadly not, due to health and safety reasons, but do remember that the trip can be watched live from shore via the web stream.

Sorry, we are unable to have dogs or any other pets travel with us.

There are several options. If there is little wind and you wish to scatter the ashes from the urn this should be possible. You can also simply drop a disposable urn from the side of the boat, or the urn can be lowered into the sea.
